Supporting Knowledge
The Import Settings dialog appears when a delimited text file such as a .csv is opened. It is a preview of the first 100 data points to be loaded. Here, it is important to do a first-time check of the data, columns, and estimated categories for each column. It is sometimes necessary to change columns data types since Spotfire might not apply the user's desired data type, or a different category might be more appropriate.
The Add data to analysis panel displays a summary of all data tables that will be added or updated. If data is added from multiple sources to the analysis, recommendations on how to add data will be shown (as new data table, as new columns, or as new rows).
