Keywords: Signals Notebook, SNB, Deleting. User.
Details: Organizations change, so do their userbases. Due to the fact that a company might purchase a fix number of licenses for SNB, they might need to release one or more in order to give access to someone new. Or there might be a scenario where the user leaves the company or institution and they will need to re-assign that license.
Please remember to transfer the Notebooks/Experiments ownership before deleting the user.
A user can be deleted by an administrator. This will deactivate the user and prevent user's access to the application. When you delete a user, you can optionally reassign Full Control of the deleted user resources to a different user.
- Open the Users page.
- Click the Trash icon corresponding to the user you want to delete.
- If you don't want to reassign the user resources to a different user, check the "Don't Share Full Control" checkbox and then click on Delete User & Don't Share Content button.
- If you want to reassign the user's resources, from the dropdown list select a user to whom you want to transfer the deleted user's resources.
- Click Delete User & Share Content. The user gets removed from the Current users list and added to the Deleted users list. The notebook count for the assigned user increases. The new user chosen is granted Full Control on all the content via Sharing page and there is no change for any users with full control via security policy.
Note: If the logged in user has system admin privilege, then he/she cannot delete his/her own account, but he/she can delete other users/admin users accounts.
Deleted users can be reactivated only by system admin users. It is possible to edit deleted users from the deleted list and once the user is reactivated the edits get saved and updated.
Note: A system admin cannot create a user using the same details of any deleted user.
