How to Work With Linked Data Sources in TIBCO Cloud™ Spotfire® Web Clients
Details:
When an analysis file with linked data is saved in the TIBCO Cloud Spotfire library and is opened from TIBCO Cloud™ Spotfire® web clients, there may be a "Missing Data" error and the linked data cannot load. For example:
Some part of the data table "xyz" could not be loaded. A data source may be missing or has been changed.
Resolution:
If an analysis file is created via TIBCO Spotfire Cloud Analyst client, and built upon data table(s) that are not embedded in the dxp file, but instead linked to data sources that are NOT accessible by the TIBCO Cloud Spotfire environment, such as:
- A data connection to a database not in the Supported data sources list, or
- A data connection to a database not accessible from the internet (specifically from the IP addresses from the Configuring access for the TIBCO Cloud™ Spotfire® web client in cloud data sources page), or
- A text or Excel file saved on a local or shared drive
For a data connection to have the data updated when the report is opened the TIBCO Cloud™ Spotfire® web client:
- Ensure the data connection is based on a data source from the list Supported data sources in the TIBCO Cloud™ Spotfire® web client.
- Ensure the source database is accessible over the internet from the the IP addresses used by the TIBCO Cloud™ Spotfire®. See Configuring access for the TIBCO Cloud™ Spotfire® web client in cloud data sources for the exact IP addresses for which access is required.
