Product:TIBCO Spotfire Analyst
Versions:11.4
Summary:
After upgrading to Spotfire version 11.4, a dxp file may fail to load with the error "The data should already be loaded for producer with key".
Details:
After upgrading to Spotfire version 11.4, a dxp file may fail to open and instead return an error such as:
Error message: The file '<filename>' cannot be opened. It may be damaged or in an unknown format.
TargetInvocationException at Spotfire.Dxp.Framework:
Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. (HRESULT: 80131604)
------
InvalidOperationException at Spotfire.Dxp.Data:
The data should already be loaded for producer with key 2b743001-0106-4e31-a9ca-6b3260e76685. (HRESULT: 80131509)
Resolution:
This error message is related to the new parallel data loading feature introduced in 11.4 and has been resolved in hotfix TS_11.4.0.86 LTS HF-002, available from the support website https://support.tibco.com.
As a temporary workaround, there is a way to turn off parallel loading for all files so that files can be accessed again. To do this, open the installed Spotfire client (not the problematic .dxp file), click on Tools > Options > Document and uncheck the option for "Allow data to be loaded in parallel when opening documents":

With this option unchecked, you should now be able to open the problematic dxp files successfully.
