With the release of 24.7, Signals Research Suite now supports the use of hybrid Spotfire, both OnPrem Spotfire and Spotfire for Signals included with Signals Research Suite.
There are three Spotfire openers available:
- Spotfire Analyst: Opens OnPrem Spotfire local client
- Spotfire Server must have opener add-in installed
- Spotfire for Signals: Opens Spotfire for Signals local client
- Available to Signals Research Suite licensed users
- Home App installer
- Spotfire for Signals Online: Opens Spotfire for Signals in web browser
- Available to Signals Research Suite licensed users
Hybrid Spotfire support is accomplished with two steps:
1. New “Spotfire for Signals” Information Item
Available in the Add Content Menu, this new default is for exclusive use with Spotfire for Signals available to Signals Research Suite licensed users.
2. Spotfire Settings and Privileges to control “Spotfire File” Information Item Behavior
"Spotfire File" Information Item is removed from Add Content menu. Creation of a "Spotfire File" is possible as per "File Upload & Drag and Drop of a DXP File" column below.
Tenants that have never enabled Signals Research Suite licenses (i.e. tenants only licensed to Signals Notebook) do not have these settings available. Their behavior is described by the last row in the table below.
Signals Research Suite tenants with default settings will be able to continue to work with current “Spotfire File” information items as previous but will default to “Spotfire for Signals” information items for exclusive use with the Spotfire included with Signals Research Suite moving forward.
