How do I customize the MM2 parameter tables in Chem3D/ChemBio3D 13.0?
In order to make changes to the parameter tables, please follow these steps: 1. Click View > Parameter Tables and click on the table you wish to edit. 2. Once the changes are made, click the “X” on the upper-right corner. 3. You will be asked if you want to save those changes, click YES. 4. Finally it will ask you if you wish to overwrite the existing table, you need to click on YES again. In order to view the table files, you will need to go to C:\ProgramData\CambridgeSoft\ChemOffice2012\Chem3D\C3D Items There you will find several XML files, one for each of the tables, for example: • MM2 Atom Type Parameters.xml • MM2 Atom Types.xml • MM2 Constants.xml You can make backups of the files to another folder in order to restore them at some point if needed. You can also make the changes manually to these files by editing them in Notepad. You will need to restart the application for the changes to take effect once you edit the XML files. Note: The MM2ATYPE.TBT is no longer used in the new versions of Chem3D.
