When I launch Chem3D, I get an error message similar to:

CHEM3D caused a general protection fault in module TRID_PCI.DRV at 0001:00000416.

This error message indicates that Chem3D is having a problem with your video driver. In the case listed above, TRID_PCI.DRV is a Trident video driver. You have two options:

1. Windows 9x users can change the Graphics hardware acceleration on their system. To do this, right click on your "My Computer" icon and choose Properties. Click on the Performance tab and then on the Graphics button at the bottom of the dialog that opens. Move the slider control from Full down to notches. 2. Contact the manufacturer of your video driver to see if there is a more recent driver available (which you can usually download from their web site for free).
