Problem:
Surfaces look poor.
Solution:
First, check to see if you are having a video driver conflict. Retest the problem in Safe Mode (for Windows 95/98) or Windows NT VGA Mode (for Windows NT). If the problem does not occur in Safe/VGA Mode, you should contact the manufacturer of your video driver to see if there is a more recent driver available (which you can usually download from their web site for free). To boot into Safe Mode, at the "Starting Windows 95/98..." screen press the F8 key. A menu will appear. Try Safe Mode option 3 or 4. To boot into VGA Mode, restart your computer and choose "Windows NT (VGA Mode)" from the boot list.
Also note that the OpenGL SGI for Windows drivers will cause the surfaces to display poorly.
