Problem:

When I try to run a Gaussian job using the CS Gaussian Client, a new screen comes up labelled gxxlink09006, and then Chem3D hangs. When I click on this new screen's upper left hand corner and close it, I get an error message indicating that I should check the .out file to figure out why the Gaussian run failed.

Solution:

The problem is that you don't have the latest version of Gaussian94W. The version of G94W that the Chem3D Gaussian client was designed for is version 4.0. You will need to contact Gaussian about upgrading your Gaussian application.
