Sometimes Reports.exe closes, consequently printing is useless. How can I prevent this?
The following steps have to be applied in the Middle Tier (webserver):
1.In "Computer Management > Services", locate the "RPTService and stop it. In the "Startup type" dropdown, set this RPTService to "Manual".
2.Create a reference to the "Reports.exe" executable (located in " C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\ChemOffice\webserver_source\cfserverasp\RPT") into the " C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Start Menu\Programs\Startup" folder. This assumes the user currently logged into the system is the "Administrator" user. If you are using a different user having admin privileges, please adapt the path.
3.Launch the "Reports.exe" interactively.
4.To enable Auto-Logon of the current user, follow the steps described by Microsoft in KB article 315231 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315231). This requires adding an additional text type keyword "DefaultPassword" to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon branch in the Windows registry as well as changing the value of "AutoAdminLogon" from "0" to 1".
5.After completing your work, do not log out. You can lock the server even when in a remote desktop session by executing "rundll32 user32.dll, LockWorkStation” from a command line. It is convenient to create an icon on the Desktop that executes this command.
