How do I create a dashed ring or circle in ChemDraw?
Upgrade to the latest version of ChemDraw, which has dashed ring and circle templates.
Otherwise, download the Special Characters Template from the ChemDraw Downloads page. A third option is to use the Drawing Elements tool (the tool that looks like a set of parenthesis) to draw an unfilled circle to the desired size. Select it with the lasso tool. Hold down the Alt key (Command key on the Mac) and place the cursor over the lower right resize handle of the selection window. The cursor will change from the lasso to a four-way arrow. Now drag the cursor one pixel, so the size of circle has barely changed. Now you can choose "Dashed" from the Curves menu to create a dashed circle.
