Product: ChemDraw
I can only drag the drawing area window to a certain point. I can't make the drawing area the full size of my screen. Also, sometimes the scroll bars are not available. How do I increase the drawing area in ChemDraw?
This is how ChemDraw is designed. The Page Setup allows you to set the size of the page (letter, legal, A4, etc.) and the orientation (Portrait or Landscape). The View menu gives you the following viewing options: Actual Size, Show Page, Magnify, and Reduce. If you have a big enough monitor and have your resolution set to something high, you may be able to see the entire page on screen when in Actual Size. No scroll bars will be available if this is the case because there is nothing to scroll. You are seeing the entire document. The same goes for viewing as Show Page. Show Page is sort of like a Print Preview. If you magnify a page, you will see that the drawing area becomes bigger. It will fill up more of your screen. You will also notice that the scroll bars become available as you increase magnification because the page size is bigger than your screen. You might also consider using the Document Settings in the File menu to create a Poster sized document or creating a multi-page document. Either of these options would potentially fill up more of your screen with drawing area. You can even create a Style Sheet with these settings if you want to have different default settings.
