Atom labels move when I print a Word document containing pasted ChemDraw structures.
There is a bug in Apple's LaserWriter driver that can affect the positioning of atom labels in printouts. This bug is fixed in the LaserWriter 8.3 driver or better, which is available from www.info.apple.com If you cannot update to LaserWriter 8.3 for some reason, you can also avoid the problem by moving the troublesome atom label a point or two to the left or right.
Fractional Width settings may also cause atom labels to shift. The default is for fractional widths to be ON in ChemDraw (Text Settings). In Word, the default is OFF for fractional widths (Page Setup). It is recommended that these be either both on or both off. Make sure both of these are the same, recopy and paste the structure into Word, and then print using the LaserWriter 8.3 or greater driver.
