Problem:

When I switch to ChemDraw using the Application Menu, my computer crashes.


Solution:

There is a bug in versions 2.7.1 of the Shareware control panel PopChar that can cause ChemDraw (and other programs) to crash. This is most likely to happen if you are switching from ChemFinder, but can happen in other circumstances as well. The author of PopChar has promised a fix in the next version of PopChar. A temporary solution would also be to turn on the Show "P" at Hot Spot option within PopChar.

The latest version of ChemDraw includes a workaround to avoid this particular problem, but you may still see crashes in other programs.
