Suddenly, I am not able to import SD Files or create new databases. After it scans the SD File, and I click on the button to Import, nothing happens. When I try to create a database, I get an error message about permission denied.
We have discovered that some of Microsoft's recent service packs are breaking something in ChemFinder 7.0.1's ability to communicate with the database components. We have worked around the problem in a ChemFinder 7.0.3 patch, which you can download from the support updates page.
If for some reason this does not fix the problem, you may need to register a file on your system. Go to the Start menu and choose Search (or Find) Files for Folders. Then search for dao360.dll. You may have more than one. You are only concerened with one that should be in a Microsoft Shared folder. Now go to the Start menu, and choose Run. In the text box that appears, type:
regsvr32
followed by a space. Now drag the icon for the dao360.dll from the search results window to the point right after the space. This should automatically put quotes around the full path to the dao360.dll. The results should something like this:
regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\DAO\dao360.dll"
Then click OK to register the file. Once registered, retest ChemFinder.
