Product: ChemFinder
I'd like to disable the ChemFinder for Word and ChemDraw buttons that appear in Word, but they always come back the next time I launch Word.
In the Tools menu in Word, select the Templates and Add-Ins option. Click on CFWord.dot, then click the Remove button. Repeat the procedure for the ChemDraw.dot if you are using a version of our software prior to 8.0. Unchecking them will only hide them until the next time you launch Word.
Word XP users will not be able to use the Remove button. Instead, you must do a Search on your hard drive for cfword.dot and chemdraw.dot (chemdraw.dot only applies to versions of our software prior to 8.0) and when you find them, you can either delete them or simply rename them to something like cfword.old and chemdraw.old in case you plan to use them later. Note that Word cannot be running when you make this change. Once the files have been deleted or renamed, launch Word, right click on the menu bar where the button still appear, and choose to hide the ChemFinder for Word and ChemDraw buttons.
If you are using version 8.0 of our software, the cfword.dot can be removed as described above. The ChemDraw icons can be hidden by simply hiding the toolbar. To do that, right click on the gray area next to a tool bar. A list of toolbars should appear with check marks next to the toolbars that are open. Uncheck the "ChemDraw" toolbar. This should hide the ChemDraw icons even after you quit Word and relaunch Word.
