It depends. For ad-hoc export (e.g. export a single experiment or notebook), you can export different pieces of data from Signals Notebook to PDF or ZIP, which are external files that can be stored on your hard drive.
Please refer to our User Guide for details:
• Creating an Experiment -> Working with Experiment Action Menu -> Printing Experiments to PDF
• Creating a Notebook -> Exporting Notebooks to ZIP
For full environment-level backups, Signals Notebook is a SaaS offering with contractually ensured uptime and availability, including technical and procedural controls for disaster recovery. In short, you will always have access to your data. That said, some of our customers have chosen to have their own copy of their data – this is often done as part of a vendor-agnostic/independent data management initiative that is internal to the customer. Signals can support such an initiative through a combination of APIs to grab the data, notifications of when the data is available, and a custom application gateway. With this approach, the a custom application is deployed (created either by the customer or on behalf of the customer by Revvity professional services) that receives an “experiment is ready” message from Signals Notebook, and then it in turn calls APIs to get the experimental content to push into the customer’s archive. This provides near real-time archival of the experimental content. See below for more information:
