Problem:
TIBCO Spotfire analysis file fails to open in TIBCO Spotfire Analyst client with error "The '...' data connector is not available".
Solution:
If a TIBCO Spotfire analysis file is accessing data via a data connector, it may fail to open in the TIBCO Spotfire Analyst client with the following error message. For example, if the Spotfire Connector for Microsoft SQL Server was used in the analysis file, then the you would see:
ImportException at Spotfire.Dxp.Data: The 'Spotfire.SqlServerAdapter' data connector is not available. Reason: The connector has not been deployed. Data connection: Connection Unavailable connector: The 'Spotfire.SqlServerAdapter' data connector is not available. Reason: The connector has not been deployed. (HRESULT: 80131500)The data connectors are included in the main TIBCO Spotfire client deployment but this issue may occur on a newly installed TIBCO Spotfire Analyst client that has not updated when connecting to a deployment area on the TIBCO Spotfire Server which has the Spotfire Analyst client distribution file Spotfire.Dxp.sdn deployed (See Deploying client packages to Spotfire Server for more details)
To resolve, make sure you have deployed the Spotfire Analyst client distribution file Spotfire.Dxp.sdn (which contains data connector adapters) to the TIBCO Spotfire Server, then launch the TIBCO Spotfire Analyst client, connect to that server and deployment area, and choose to upgrade the client when prompted.
