Problem:

Changes in Spotfire version 10: How to use Paste Special in Spotfire 10?


Solution:

In versions before Spotfire 10, one could find "Paste Special" under "Edit" menu. This articles describes how to use Paste Special in Spotfire version 10 and higher.
  In Spotfire version 10 and higher we do not see "Paste Special" option under "Edit" menu.The Paste option under "Edit" menu in Spotfire 10 behaves like the "Paste" & "Paste Special" in older versions of Spotfire(7.14 and lower).  If you want to avail different features("Showing Import Settings","As New Columns" and "As New rows") of Paste Special, use  "Paste" option under "Edit" menu.

After the data is copied and if the user selects "Edit > Paste" option, Spotfire displays a window with different features for Paste Special. User has an option to select whether to add  the copied data as a new data table, as new rows, or as new columns.
