How to remap the Information Link used by a data table.
There may be times when you need to change the Information Link that a data table is using in your analysis file. For example, a report has a data table that pulls data from 'myInformationLink1' and it needs to be changed to 'myInformationLink2'. To do this, in the TIBCO Professional Client, you need to use 'File' > 'Replace Data Table'. Unfortunately, this may also remove all calculated columns, inserted columns, inserted rows or other modifications added to the data table.
For example, in the 'File' > 'Data Table Properties' > 'Source Information' tab, this method will change:- Select File > Add Data Tables...
Select source: Information Link.
Source location: /myFolder/myInformationLink1 (7d52d4f5-4869-4f87-bb15-994d0c12f010)
to:
- Select File > Add Data Tables...
Select source: Information Link.
Source location: /myFolder/myInformationLink2 (46cd8a72-ef68-4c37-a737-341c648a9e93)
It is not possible to change this by manually extracting and editing the .dxp file like it is possible with some other changes which would allow you to not lose all calculated columns, inserted columns, inserted rows or other modifications added to the data table.
To update the Information Link used by a data table, in the TIBCO Professional Client select:
- 'File' > 'Replace Data Table'.
- Choose your data table to update.
- Select your new Information Link.
Note that this may also remove all calculated columns, inserted columns, inserted rows or other modifications added to the data table.
