Where is the S+ Graphical User Interface (GUI) in my TIBCO Spotfire S+ 8.2 for Windows 64-bit installation?
User has installed 64-bit version of TIBCO Spotfire S+ but isn't seeing the expected menu options. The 64-bit S+ 8.2 application has no S+ GUI for Windows. However, there are two alternatives available to you:
1. If you are looking to use the drop down menus to import data, modify data, run statistics, etc…, the 32-bit S+ and 64-bit versions of S+ 8.2 can be installed side-by-side on 64-bit Microsoft Windows® (Vista and Windows 7). This will allow you to install the 32-bit S+ 8.2 application to use the drop down menu items in the 32-bit S+ GUI. The 32-bit S+ 8.2 installation file is named TIB_sf_s+_8.2.0_win_x86_32.exe and can be downloaded from https://perkinelmerinformatics.flexnetoperations.com/.
If you simply used the S+ GUI to write and run code in either the Commands Window or the Script Window, you can still run this code in the 64-bit S+ Console or S+ Workbench. However, the GUI code (e.g. the graphsheet() function, and functions whose names begin with gui...) will not work in 64-bit S+.
2. Alternatively, you can use the S+ Workbench included in your 64-bit S+ 8.2 installation, which runs the 64-bit S+ application. The S+ Workbench is a plug-in, or customization, of the Eclipse Integrated Development Environment (IDE). This will allow you to create, edit, and debug S+ code, run S+ commands, and manage your S+ projects, just to name a few things. To learn more about the S+ Workbench, please go to Start -> All Programs -> TIBCO -> TIBCO Spotfire S+ 8.2 (64-bit) -> TIBCO Spotfire S+ Workbench (64-bit) and then to Help -> Spotfire S+ Manuals -> Spotfire S+ Workbench Guide.
