Problem:
Changing the installation directory for TIBCO Spotfire Desktop
Solution:
TIBCO Spotfire Desktop can be used only by the user who installs it. By default it is installed in the user profile, which would prevent other users from having access to the program.
Steps to change the default installation directory-
1)Install Spotfire Desktop under a user profile.
2)Create a folder called 'Spotfire_Desktop_Client'
3)Copy the "Spotfire Desktop" folder from "C:\users\profile\AppData\Local\TIBCO\" to the C:\Spotfire_Desktop_Client' folder.
4)Edit the file 'Spotfire.Dxp.exe.config' located in "Spotfire Desktop\7.0.0" to change the module path to the relevant folder path to locate the Modules:
<folder path="C:\TIBCO\Spotfire_Desktop_Client\7.0.0\Modules"/>
5)Now any user logging on to that machine should be able to use the Spotfire Desktop Client.
