H2 database does not provide failover capability for a TIBCO Spotfire Statistics Services Cluster.

Problem:

H2 database does not provide failover capability for a TIBCO Spotfire Statistics Services Cluster.


Solution:

When a TIBCO Spotfire Statistics Services (TSSS) cluster is configured to use the default H2 database, there will not be a proper distribution of requests to all Manager nodes. If a Load Balancer is in front of the TSSS cluster, then we may see all requests being routed to a single Manager node. If that primary Manager node goes offline, then the TSSS cluster will not be operational. If a secondary Manager node goes offline, the TSSS cluster will remain operational as the requests will still be routed to that primary Manager node. This is expected behavior using H2 database as it does not provide failover capability when used in Cluster deployment.

Note: H2 provides no failover capability for a  Spotfire Spotfire Statistics Services cluster.

If you are installing a TSSS cluster then ensure you are configuring one of the following database as the jobs database for your cluster: 
Oracle (10g or later).
Microsoft SQL Server (2005 or later).
MySQL (5.0.89 or later).
