TIBCO Spotfire Web Player returns error: "HTTP Error 404.7 - Not Found."

TIBCO Spotfire Web Player returns error: "HTTP Error 404.7 - Not Found."

When trying to open the TIBCO Spotfire Web Player in a browser, the following error is returned (and the Internet Information Services homepage also returns the same error)::

HTTP Error 404.7 - Not Found. 
The request filtering module is configured to deny the file extension.

For example:


This is caused by the request filtering module in Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager not being configured properly.

1. Go to the TIBCO Spotfire Web Player web site in IIS Manager.
2. Double click on "Request Filtering" Module. 
3. Click on "Edit Feature Settings".
4. Make sure the following three options are selected:
   • Allow unlisted name extensions.
   • Allow unlisted verbs.
   • Allow high-bit characters.
5. Click OK.
