How to determine the client type of users from Action Logs in Spotfire 7.5 and higher

Prior to 7.5 version, the AUTH_LOGIN view from the Action Logs used to tell us the Client Type of a user (Spotfire Web Player or Spotfire Professional) (Refer Attached Filename: Screenshot1.png)

The biggest change from Spotfire 7.0 and earlier versions to Spotfire 7.5 and higher version is that Spotfire Server now handles all external communication and that Spotfire Web Player and Spotfire Automation Services have become a set of scalable back-end services, installed on nodes Starting with the new topology in 7.5, the Spotfire Server proxies communicate between users and Web Players. A user connecting to a Web Player authenticates on the Spotfire Server.

Other products in the Spotfire world will supply what kind of client they are, hence the names "TIBCO Spotfire (Professional | Automation Services | Package Builder | Client Job Sender)" might show up in the logs.

When a user logs in to the Spotfire Server to view an analysis with a Web Player, the user's browser does not supply that kind of information, hence we cannot determine what kind of client they are and write nothing. (Refer Attached Filename:Screenshot2.PNG)

If you wish to keep track of logins to Web Players, these should be found in the AUTH_WP_LOGIN view (or in the actionlog table with LOG_CATEGORY="auth_wp" and LOG_ACTION="login").
