Manually starting an LDAP user and group synchronization from the command line

Problem:

Solution:

Forcing the Spotfire server to start an LDAP synchronization manually. This can be done using the configuration command "list-users -f".

Windows:

1). Open a command prompt and CD into the bin folder of the Spotfire Server installation. Default is "C:\tibco\tss\x.x.x\tomcat\bin" .

2). Run the command

config.bat list-users -f

and enter the Tool Password when prompted.This will start an LDAP synchronization before listing the first 100 users from the Spotfire database.

Linux:

1). CD to the bin folder of the Spotfire server installation. The default is "/user/local/bin/tibco/tss/x.x.x/tomcat"

2). Run the command

config.sh list-users -f

and enter the Tool Password when prompted. This will start an LDAP synchronization before listing the first 100 users from the Spotfire database.

Note: The time it takes for Spotfire to finish the synchronization depends on the number of users and groups to be synced.
