Some visualizations in Spotfire Client version 7.8 are throwing the following error: "Please specify an aggregation method".

Problem:

Some visualizations in Spotfire Client version 7.8 are throwing the following error: "Please specify an aggregation method".


Solution:


After upgrading to Spotfire 7.8, visualizations which worked all right in other versions throw an error to specify an aggregation method if they encounter the "DateTimeNow()" function.

Resolution

A defect has been raised for this issue. As a workaround, try using "First( DateTimeNow() )" in the visualizations, instead of using the "DateTimeNow()" function by itself.
