Unable to install Spotfire Client - "IOException at mscorlib: The directory is not empty."
Installation of the Spotfire client (Analyst/Desktop/Cloud) fails with error "IOException at mscorlib: The directory is not empty."
Unable to install software: Error message: The installation failed due to an unknown problem. See details for more information. IOException at mscorlib: The directory is not empty. (HRESULT: 80070091)
Possible reasons for this failure:
1). Slow internet connectivity.
2). Firewall blocking the download of updates.
3). Antivirus and threat protection software (such as cylance) are known to interfere with Spotfire client installation.
4). The Installer is run as a non administrator user.
1). Install the Spotfire client software on a different machine, where the above mentioned causes are not in effect.
2). Copy the client installation directory. For example, if the client is installed in "C:\Program Files (x86)\TIBCO\Spotfire\7.0.0", then copy the 7.0.0 folder onto the other machine where it is failing: into "C:\SpotfireClient", for example.
3). Edit the 'Spotfire.Dxp.exe.config' file located in "C:\SpotfireClient\7.0.0" to change the module path to the relevant folder path to locate the Modules.
4). Run the C:\SpotfireClient\7.0.0\Spotfire.Dxp.exe file to invoke the Spotfire Client.
5). For easier access, create a desktop shortcut to this exe file.
