Server application error while trying to edit embedded ChemDraw structures/objects in Word/PowerPoint (on a Windows machine)

While trying to edit the embedded ChemDraw structures/objects in Word/PowerPoint (on a Windows machine), I got the following error:

"The Server application, source file, or item can't be found, or returned an unknown error. You may need to reinstall the server application"

It seems the automation between our product and the MS Office application has been affected due to a Windows or MS Office update. Reinstalling our product fixes this automation problem. Uninstall ChemDraw/ChemOffice components using Programs and Features from the Control panel.

Look to uninstall components like the following:
PerkinElmer ChemOffice 64-bit Support ….
PerkinElmer ChemOffice Suite ….
PerkinElmer ChemScript ….

Then reinstall the product and retest the problem.

Please note this solution works only for the paid version of ChemDraw/ChemOffice. If you experience a similar issue with the trial license, then, please purchase a paid license and retest the issue.
