When I try to activate ChemDraw I receive the error "Activation failed because the license store or missing or read-only
This happens if the ./Users/Shared/ directory in your operating system is read-only. First of all, make sure the date and time on the system is properly displayed for your local time zone.
To correct the problem please do the following:
1. Right-click your Shared folder and select Get Info
2. Change the preferences to Read & Write for all the options listed (System and Everyone)
3. Uninstall ChemDraw.
4. Delete all PerkinElmer, Revvity or ChemDraw .plist files found on any of these folders:
- Macintosh HD\Users\[username]\Library\Preferences
- Macintosh HD\Users\[username]\Library\Preferences\ByHost
- Macintosh HD\Users\Shared\Library\Preferences
Note: To access the Library folders under your username, you may need to go to the Go> "Go to folder" option, or press Shift+Command+G
5. Empty the trash
6. Reinstall and launch ChemDraw by right-clicking on it and selecting "Run as Administrator" before trying to activate again.
7. Activate ChemDraw again.
For Windows make sure the user has write access to the following folder and any subfolders present: C:\ProgramData\PerkinElmerInformatics\FNE.
Note: For ChemDraw/ChemOffice version 23.x, the path for Windows OS will be: C:\ProgramData\RevvitySignalsSoftware
