Product: ChemDraw
Copying the structures from ChemDraw into PowerPoint works okay; the structures look good. However, when I introduce animations the captions and atom labels look distorted. It seems that this problem is only with office XP, as with 2000 the same document looks OK.
This is a Microsoft issue. Microsoft provided the following suggestions regarding this issue:
Cut and paste the CS ChemDraw object as PNG. To do
this:
1. Open the PowerPoint presentation, Cut the CS ChemDraw object from the
slide.
2. Go to edit menu, select paste special command
3. In the As window, select Picture as (PNG), then click ok.
This option really offers the better quality.
The last workaround should be the most optimal to you with the caviat that
we will be unabe to edit the object in ChemDraw.
To do this:
1. Open the presentation and select the CS ChemDraw object
2. Go to the Draw menu & choose to 'ungroup' the object
3. You'll be prompted to convert it to an MS drawing object.
4. Clicking YES converts it.
5. Then if you apply the animation effect it will *not* degrade the font
quality of the object
Both of Microsoft's suggestions above have the caveat that you will not be able to edit the ChemDraw structure any longer.
