Product: ChemDraw
Different actions cause a significant delay in ChemDraw where the cursor appears to freeze for a few seconds.
There are two reasons why this might occur:
1. Some virus protection may cause this to happen. Try setting your virus software to scan only program files and not ALL files.
2. The other reason has to do with the printer driver. ChemDraw must poll the printer driver to obtain certain information about the page settings. It does this polling after certain functions. Most likely, your printer driver is causing the problem. The HP PCL-6 and some PCL-5 drivers can cause the delay. This HP PCL 5/6 conflict has been fixed in ChemDraw 6.0.2. ChemDraw 6.0 users should download the free 6.0.2 update on the Files section of the support site (see side bar). Otherwise, you can also try using the PostScript driver that came with the PCL-6 or PCL-5 driver or try using a printer driver supplied by Windows.
