I'm getting an error during batch analysis saying that the ''expected channel is missing''. Can I run batch analysis if not all image data is present?
The short answer is no, it's not currently possible to run batch analysis in Columbus if there are missing images.
During the batch analysis process, if Columbus finds that there are one or more images missing it will not complete the analysis and an error will be reported in the Columbus job status page. The error will state exactly which image/channel is missing. It fails on the first image it isn't able to locate which means that there might be other missing images but they won't necessarily be reported in the error as shown on the Columbus Job Status page.
Below is an example of the error you might expect to see on the Columbus Job Status page:
----------------------------------------------
''Processing Failed: Evaluation aborted at building block Find Nuclei: Screen Name > Plate Name > Measurement name > A1 > Field 1 > Timepoint 1 > Plane 1. The expected channel3 is missing (existing channels are Channel1 and Channel2).''
----------------------------------------------
There might be a number of reasons why the image(s) are missing, this might include but is not restricted to:
- problems during import such as a network outage (check the Columbus job status page for the associated import job to cross-check)
- the image(s) data is missing from the source data directory i.e. the raw data isn't complete.
If the missing images can be attributed to a problem during import then the recommendation would be to create a new screen folder in Columbus and re-import the data into the new screen folder. Run the batch analysis on the newly imported data.
If you continue to encounter this problem or if you are not able to locate the raw data in order to re-import it please contact the Technical Support team (signals.support@revvity.com) who may be able to offer further assistance.
