Effects on RAM utilization when a TIBCO Spotfire Web Player user opens a report which is cached via Scheduled Updates

This article helps you understand if there is any additional memory consumption which accessing the cached reports on the Spotfire Web Player. When a report is cached in Scheduled Updates and a user opens the report in the Web Player, the user will be directed to the cached version of the report. In general, there will not be significant increased RAM usage based on that user, but technically the Web Player will likely consume more RAM due to the user interactions with the report. If there are property changes, on-demand data tables, views of unused tabs, etc., that have not been cached, then additional RAM will be required by the TIBCO Spotfire Web Player for those new calculations. The data resulting from the user interaction with the report will be cleaned after it is no longer needed.

The user interaction will cause some additional overhead with respect to RAM utilization which is why concurrent user and normal workflows should be considered when evaluating the standard normal operating utilization.
