Problem:
"Unknown Publisher" error thrown when installing TIBCO Spotfire Web Player.
Solution:
When installing the TIBCO Spotfire Web Player the installer may return the following error:
Windows has found a problem with this file Name: core.cab Publisher: Unknown Publisher This file was blocked because it does not have a valid digital signature that verifies its publisher.
Once you see this the TIBCO Spotfire Web Player install will fail. This can be cause by the following:
1. Restricted access to internet that can block the signatures to be validated.
2. An application (anti-virus) blocking the signature data.
3. An IE Option setting:
a. Go to the Windows Control Panel > Internet Options
b. The Internet Properties dialog pops up. Click on the Advanced tab.
c. Under Security, check “All software to run or install even if the signature is invalid”.
d. Run the Installer again.
