Problem:
Issue opening Access file from TIBCO Spotfire on 64 bit Windows OS with 32 bit Microsoft Office 365
Solution:
On a supported client Windows OS that is 64-bit with Microsoft Office 365 32-bit; the TIBCO Spotfire client cannot open an Access file and throws an error. In some cases where Microsoft Office was upgraded to version 365, the previous version of Microsoft Office may have worked with Spotfire. In the ERROR dialog, you may see the following:
ImportException at Spotfire.Dxp.Data: Failed to execute data source query for data source "myDataSource". (HRESULT: 80131500) Stack Trace: at Spotfire.Dxp.Data.DataSourceConnection.<GetPromptModels>d__2.MoveNext() at Spotfire.Dxp.Data.Persistence.DataPool.<LoadData>d__2.MoveNext() at Spotfire.Dxp.Data.Producers.SourceColumnProducer.<Refresh>d__3.MoveNext() ImportException at Spotfire.Dxp.Data: Required Access OLE DB provider 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' not installed. (HRESULT: 80131500) Stack Trace: at Spotfire.Dxp.Data.Import.AccessFileDataSource.ValidateDriver() at Spotfire.Dxp.Data.Import.AccessFileDataSource.ConnectCore(IServiceProvider serviceProvider, DataSourcePromptMode promptMode, DataLoadSettings loadSettings) at Spotfire.Dxp.Data.DataSource.ConnectWithoutPrompting(IServiceProvider serviceProvider, DataSourcePromptMode promptMode, Boolean updateInternalState, DataLoadSettings loadSettings) at Spotfire.Dxp.Data.DataFlow.<ConnectAndGetPromptModels>d__0.MoveNext() at Spotfire.Dxp.Data.DataFlow.DataFlowConnection.<GetPromptModelsCore>d__9.MoveNext() at Spotfire.Dxp.Data.DataSourceConnection.<GetPromptModels>d__2.MoveNext()
The error indicates that a driver is missing (i.e. there is no driver usable by the 64 bit TIBCO Spotfire application). To resolve, download and install Microsoft 2013 64-bit Access Redistribution: Microsoft 2013 64-bit Access Redistribution:
