Visual C++ error blocking Web Player or Automation Services install/upgrade to 6.5.x
When installing Spotfire Web Player or Spotfire Automation Services, the following error is reported:
"The files for installation requirement Spotfire Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64) could not be found. The installation will now stop. This is probably due to a failed, or cancelled download."
Symptoms:
When installing Spotfire Web Player or Spotfire Automation Services, the following error is reported,
"The files for installation requirement Spotfire Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64) could not be found. The installation will now stop. This is probably due to a failed, or cancelled download."
Cause:
Spotfire Web Player 6.5.x and Spotfire Automation Services 6.5.x both require Microsoft Visual C++ 2010, which cannot be downloaded automatically from the Microsoft website when the installation's target server has no internet connection.
Resolution
Download "Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64)" from the website shown here, and copy the installer file to the Web Player server or Automation Services server.
The 64-bit version Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package is available at the following link:

Install the redistributable package first, then install the Web Player or Automation Services.
