The machine key should be same for all Spotfire Web Players in a cluster with load balancer to maintain session affinity.

This is not taken care by default. The following additional steps required to be performed. 1. Start IIS manager on Web Player servers 2. Click on the Web Player website to make it active 3. From the Features View open the "Machine Key" settings 4. Optional: Select "Encryption method" and "Decryption method" of your choice. 5. Deselect "Automatically generate at runtime" (for both "Validation key" and "Decryption key") 6. For the first Web Player click on "Generate Keys" in the Actions pane. 7. On subsequent Web Players copy the values instead of generating new keys so all Web Player share the same settings. 8. Click on "Apply" to applied the changes. (This will modify the web.config file and add the machineKey details)
