1 Open file with data 2 Create an analysis file (dxp file) 3 Save your analysis (with linked data) in the Spotfire Library (File > Save as > Library Item > Finish) 4 Before making any changes, please take a backup of the web. config file. Set up web.config file (C:\Program Files\TIBCO\Spotfire Web Player\5.5.0\webroot\web.config by default) - For files with data located on the same machine Web Player is installed (not in the web player installation folder) specify these folders or files in the value tags for this setting AllowedFilePaths to be able to access them in the Web Player: C:\MyData\ C:\MyData\MyFile.txt Note: Each file or folder should be specified in a separate string tag - For files with data located on a shared drive, specify these folders or files in the value tags for this setting AllowedFilePaths in this format \\server_name\folder_name\file_name to be able to access them in the Web Player: \\server_name\folder_name\ \\server_name\folder_name\file_name Note: Each file or folder should be specified in a separate string tag - For files with data located in the web player installation folder (C:\\ProgramFiles\Tibco\Spotfire Web Player\5.5.0\ for example) specify these folders or files in the value tags for this setting AllowedWebRootfiles to be able to access them in the Web Player: .. \LogFiles\; .. \LogFiles\Myfiles.txt Note: Files are separated with ;. All files are relative to the webroot folder - If you want to allow all file paths and don’t want to specify every path separately, add the following parameter in the web. config file: ... True Note: Use only one of these options 5 Restart Web Player 6 For any of these options to work, make sure that the user running Web Player Application Pool has required access to the data location (folder, shared drive) By default Spotfire Web Player Application Pool runs as “NETWORK SERVICES” and this user doesn’t have access beyond the Web Player server machine. You may need to run the Application Pool as a custom user account and then provide the required access to the data location for this user. Run TIBCO Spotfire Web Player 5.5.0 Pool under a custom user account: - Start IIS Manager - Go to the Application Pool - Right click on the TIBCO Spotfire Web Player 5.5.0 Pool and select Advanced Settings - Click on the Identity - Tick Custom Account and click Set - Type Username in this format Domain\Username and Password, click Ok and then click Ok - Restart TIBCO Spotfire Web Player 5.5.0 Pool 7 Open your analysis with linked data from Spotfire Library
