Is there a way to reuse the Material ID of a compound that was deleted from the library?

Due to audit concerns and technical limitations at this moment once a material has been deleted it is removed from the application and reusing the Material ID is not possible.
The Material ID has been setup as a unique identifier in the application’s database that cannot be reused.
Existing links to the material will remain unchanged but the page will become inaccessible.
