What is Lead Discovery Premium Web Services?

Lead Discovery Web Services (LDWS) comprise a set of search, manipulation, calculation, and annotation methods that are accessible through the Lead Discovery Premium extension for Spotfire.

LDWS centralize compute and data resources that are either inappropriate or unwieldy to execute on Spotfire client machines. The LDWS architecture is open and extensible to allow adding custom web services in several different programming languages. Most programs that can be executed on a command line may be turned into web services.

Should I install this?

The web services that support biologics have significant utility. However, bear in mind if there is an immediate need for a particular service as installing LDWS can be time consuming and complicated both in terms of installation and administration. With this in mind you may wish to engage PerkinElmer Technical Services to help, please contact your Account Manager as required.

NOTES:

• In an upcoming Chemcharts release in 2022, there will be an introduction of Data Functions which will have a superset of LDWS functions with a small fraction of the time installing / deploying / administering LDWS.
• LDWS is not provided with the PerkinElmer Spotfire Subscription server for technical reasons.
