How to delete a Sample template from Samples settings?

The application is designed in a way where we can enable or disable the users to create samples. By either activating the samples feature or by deactivating the feature as shown below.

(System objects > Samples > Activation)

If sample activation is enabled users can create samples either by default templates or using their own templates created by admins.

Sample and Chemical Sample are default templates where Chemical Sample template is used to create samples from the experiment's reagents/ products. Sample template is used to create non-chemical samples. 
These templates are shared by default with Administrators and All Users groups and cannot be renamed or deleted.

There is no option to trash or hide the default templates (Sample and Chemical Sample) from system. However, as a workaround you can follow any of the below approaches for it:

1. Create a new Sample template with required content and use them for creating samples.
2. Edit the default template by adding required content to it. (Note: the template name, description and existing sample filed property cannot be edited or removed)
