ChemDraw structures become non-editable image in the Word file

Hi,

I usually draw my chemical structures using ChemDraw and then copy-paste them into Word 365. However, sometimes when I double-click to edit the structure in the Word file, it opens the ChemDraw page but with a blank page (instead of showing the structures). If I close the blank page, the structure in the Word file becomes a non-editable image!

Any suggestion to fix that, please?

  Can we please have the version of ChemDraw and the version of the Operating System used?

  hi

  Yesterday I upgraded the software to the last version of ChemDraw (21.), but nothing has changed. 

  System type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

  The first step is to make sure both your Operating System and MS Office are up to date by installing all available updates for them.  Sometimes certain versions of MS Office have issues with the OLE objects, but updates released later fix those issues.

  Hi,

  Are you talking about an error accessing the link, or an error in ChemDraw?

  Errors on programs happen all the time.  Perhaps one of the components got corrupted and that is why a clean installation is required, removing first all traces of the existing installation.

  I also encountered this situation, hopefully they will find the error and fix it, uninstalling and installing actually caused me to lose some important data.
