Chemdraw slowing down Macbook M2 Pro
Hello!
I'm asking this on behalf of a user who is having issues with using Chemdraw v22. The user reported that their computer slows down a lot when using Chemdraw. I've tried the following:
- restarting the computer
- reinstalling Chemdraw
- installing an older version of Chemdraw (v21)
- turned off the computer for 30 seconds to reset SMC
After each of these tasks, the computer seems to work fine for a bit, but then starts slowing down after a while. I did notice that there is another ChemDraw process that starts up automatically even when ChemDraw is closed, and that it is using 100% of the CPU.
I was wondering what this is, and is this process supposed to take up this many resources even when ChemDraw isn't open? Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask, if I'm in the wrong place please let me know!
