Supporting Knowledge

The Data Canvas is the centralized source view in Spotfire where users can perform data wrangling and create accurate analyses. It is a visual representation of how data tables and data functions have been added and modified to obtain the final data table, displaying any operations performed.

Each object in the central part of the Data canvas is called a node, and for a data table, each node represents either a data source or an operation. This can help the user get insight into how the final data table in the analysis was created.

Note: The options to rename, replace, and delete always apply to the final data table, and not to the selected node in the graphical structure.
