Spotfire: Add a calculated column from the Data canvas

Prior to this task:

✔ Data must be loaded.

✔ Data canvas must be opened.

1️⃣ Data canvas ➡ Data tables ➡ select "data table name"
2️⃣ Data canvas ➡ final data table node ➡ select  [Click to see operations...] ➡ select [Add calculated column]
3️⃣ Add calculated column window ➡ select Expression ➡ type new expression Column name ➡ type new column name [Preview] ➡ verify values [Formatting...] ➡ modify accordingly
4️⃣ Add calculated column window ➡ Resulting expression ➡ select [OK]

Alternatively, to add a calculated column, from the Active page, select Data, then select Add calculated column...

Alternatively, to specify a desired expression, the user can select [Insert Columns], [Insert Properties], and [Insert Functions] from the available lists and build the expression.

Notes:

• When an [error message] is shown in the Sample result field, there is an issue with the entered expression, and the user must modify the expression (that is, edit the text in the Expression field) until the desired result is achieved. A Preview can be shown only for valid expressions.
• The [Preview] button shows the first one hundred rows of results along with the input data.
