Supporting Knowledge
Master visualization*: Visualization in which the user marks item(s), then retrieves details about the item(s) in the details visualization.
Notes:
- When using different data tables for the master and details visualizations, a relationship must be set up between the data tables.
- When no related data tables are available, the details visualization will automatically use the same data table as the master visualization.
- If no items are marked in the master visualization, the details visualization will be empty.
Optionally, the user can determine what to display in the details visualization when no items are marked in its master visualizations. From the Details visualization, select [Properties]. From the Data options, under "If no items are marked in the master visualizations, show" area, the user can select All Data to display all data from the master visualizations until the user marks item(s). With the Empty visualization option, only axis selectors, scales, or column headers (where applicable) will be shown. With the Message on white background option, a message can be set to let anyone using the analysis know in which visualizations to mark items to observe details.
