This article explains possible reasons why after marking some rows on a visualization, followed by Right click > Marked Rows > Filter To/Filter Out options are shown as disabled. See Marking in Visualizations for more details.

Resolution:
Possible reasons:

• If the data is kept external, i.e, coming from some in-database connector and kept as external. See Working with In-Database Data for context.

Or:

• If under the Data Table Properties > General > Filters, "Manage manually" is selected. Since Filter To / From needs to be able to create filters, it will disable these functions if "Manage manually" option for filter is selected. Select "Create automatically for all columns" to avoid this.
