How to connect to TIBCO Data virtualization published views using Spotfire Information link.
Details:
This article lists the steps to follow to connect to TIBCO Data virtualization published views data via the Spotfire Information link.
Pre-requisites:
1. Published view is available in TIBCO Data Virtualization.
2. Appropriate TDV JDBC driver (csjdbc8.jar) placed in Spotfire Server location [Spotfire Installation Directory]\tomcat\custom-ext\ directory.
3. Spotfire Server Configuration Tool is used to enable TDV data source template (under Configuration-> Data Source Templates).
Resolution:
1. If TDV data source needs to be enabled, follow this step. Otherwise, skip to step 2.
Launch Spotfire Server Configuration Tool, enter the bootstrap password and navigate to Configuration-> Data Source Templates, then enable TIBCO Data Virtualization. Restart Spotfire Server service.

2. Launch Spotfire Analyst and navigate to Data menu-> Information Designer-> Setup Data Source.
3. Select TIBCO Data Virtualization from the drop-down list and enter the Connection URL as appropriate to connect to TDV Published Data Source. For example :
jdbc:compositesw:dbapi@v14Statistica:9601?domain=composite&dataSource=agree_test
Save the new data source with appropriate name in the Library.
4. In Information Designer window, click on Start tab-> Elements-> Multiple Columns. Click on the view in the Elements Pane and click Add the columns from TDV Data Source added in the prior step. Save the columns in a location as shown below :
5. Click on the Start tab in the Information Designer. Click on 'Create Information Link'.
6. Select Columns created in the prior step and click Add as shown below:
7. Save the Information Link and click on 'Open Data'. Use in Spotfire Analyst as required. The illustration above shows a data table added to the dashboard.
