The Spotfire Server installation packages include a default Java Development Kit (JDK) distribution:
• Before Spotfire 14.0, the Spotfire installation packages include Oracle Java SE Development Kit.
• Starting with Spotfire 14.0, the Spotfire installation packages include the Eclipse Temurin OpenJDK (previously known as AdoptOpenJDK).
If you are using a Spotfire release lower than 14.0, the Spotfire installation packages include Oracle Java SE. In this case, Spotfire customers are not required to obtain their own subscription for Oracle Java SE in order to use such Spotfire products, provided that they use Oracle Java SE as shipped with the Spotfire product.
Please note that this license to Java SE does not extend to "Commercial Features" in Java, which are not required by the Spotfire product. For more information on "Commercial Features", see Table 1-1 on https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/terms/products/index.html.
If you are using a Spotfire release 14.0 or higher, and you want to switch to use Oracle Java, you might require an Oracle Java SE license to install and use Oracle Java SE, depending on your company's license agreement with Oracle and your usage of Spotfire. Make sure you understand the Oracle Java SE license terms. For more information, see:
